ABOUT DAVID

David Sharpe is a seventh-generation Tennessean and longtime Hamilton County resident committed to building strong communities for families, workers, and local businesses. He and his wife, Rebekah, live in Red Bank with their three children.

First elected to the Hamilton County Commission in 2018, David represents District 6 and has built a reputation as a thoughtful, collaborative leader focused on strengthening public education, supporting small businesses, and guiding responsible growth across Hamilton County.

Before serving in public office, David spent years in Chattanooga’s restaurant and craft brewing industry, working his way up from line cook to regional brewer overseeing teams across multiple states. His experience in the industry shaped his belief in the power of local businesses to create opportunity and strengthen communities.

David has also been active in civic life, serving on Chattanooga’s 21st Century Riverfront Steering Committee and co-chairing the Southern Brewers Festival, which has raised millions of dollars for local charities.

As County Commissioner, David continues to focus on investing in public schools, expanding housing opportunities, supporting local entrepreneurs, and ensuring Hamilton County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
